GrorudGrorud is a highly innovative and competitive company based in the North East of England. The plant offers an impressive 11,000 square metres of floor space, housing over 30 presses from 18 to 630 tonnes, the largest capacity EP painting facility of its type in the UK, and a large assembly area. Our plant is organised to ensure the most cost effective planning and flow of work. We utilises modern production techniques to ensure that products flow through the system, enabling us to manufacture to the tight schedules required by our customers. This gives us the ability to ensure complete customer satisfaction. The philosophy of all of our three divisions is to eliminate Customer's problems. Our Press & Assembly division continues to press a wide variety of components for the automotive, business machine, DIY, building and construction industries on a global basis. Today, however, virtually all of our customers enjoy significant cost savings provided by our innovative and integrated manufacturing approach. The addition of numerous metal and module assembly operations, in-house design services, the application of long established Far Eastern supply routes and the provision of exceptional customer service have built our reputation as a trusted business partner to some of the world's biggest corporations. Our Painting Division not only provides a valuable in-house resource to our Press & Assembly customers, it has grown into a thriving sub-contract provider of both electrophoretic paint and powder coating in its own right. Finally, our Products division designs and manufactures a range of Monitor Mounts, Disability Access products, Farm and Agriculture accessories as well as products aimed at motorcyclists. The monitor mounts are compatible with the vast majority of LCD monitors on the market today and are designed to provide significant ergonomic benefits to the user. Since the ranges inception in 1989, we have grown to be the largest UK manufacturer of such products and one of the Europe's biggest names. The disability access products include access ramps and service counters for both domestic and commercial applications. The introduction of these products coincides with the implementation of the accessibility phase of Disability Discrimination Act in October 2004. Both the Farm & Agriculture products together with the motorcycle accessories have spun off from these other ranges to provide a further diversification in the markets we serve. HistoryGrorud, named after a district of Oslo, was founded in Norway in 1917. The UK operation started in 1964, and via various acquisitions, manufacture commenced on the current site in County Durham in 1990. Following the dissolution of the resultant group, the company was taken over by the current management team in 1998. Following a thorough re-organisation of the business, Grorud now focuses on providing high quality, cost effective solutions to a wide range of blue chip companies. By remaining loyal to these two core principals, Grorud continues to develop and succeed in a growing number of manufacturing sectors.
